Yardwonder Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

This policy explains what information Evolui AB ("Evolui", "we", "us") collects when you use Yardwonder at yardwonder.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The data controller is Evolui AB, corporate identity number 559345-8705, Pildammsvägen 95F, 215 34 Malmö, Sweden. You can reach us at support@evolui.io.

The short version

The yard photo you upload and the details you give us are sent to OpenAI to create your redesign and design package. We use your email to send you your designs, a few notes about them over the following week (you can unsubscribe at any time), and your package and receipt if you buy. We never sell your data. We measure how the site is used without cookies, and tell Google Ads when a purchase happens so we know which ads work.

What Yardwonder uses and where it goes

Your yard photo

When you upload a photo, your browser first shrinks it and re-saves it, which removes hidden metadata such as the GPS location your phone may have recorded. The photo is then sent to our server and on to OpenAI, which generates the redesigned image. OpenAI does not use it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it. Please don't upload photos that show people. We ask the model never to add people to a design.

Your answers and change requests

Which part of the yard it is, how much sun it gets, your budget, what you want in the yard, your notes and any changes you ask for are sent to OpenAI with the photo, as instructions for the design. Your ZIP code is used on our server to match plants and costs to your area. It is not sent to OpenAI.

Logging in

There are no passwords. To log in, you enter your email and we send a 6-digit code (and a link) to that address. We only send a code if we have designs or purchases for that email, and the page says the same either way, so it doesn't reveal who is a customer. We store a scrambled version of the code, never the code itself; it works once, for 10 minutes, and is deleted within a day. Logging in sets a cookie that keeps you logged in on that device for up to 90 days. It's needed for the service to work, so it isn't used for advertising or tracking. Logging out removes it.

Safety checks

Before a change you type is used, it is checked by OpenAI's moderation service, and the image model screens each photo and request too, so that harmful requests are refused. With each image request we send OpenAI a random-looking identifier made from a one-way hash of your internet connection, so misuse can be traced to a single visitor. It never includes your email address or name.

What you type

We keep the text of the ideas and changes you type into the design tool, with the style, which part of the yard it is and whether the design was made, to see what people ask for and to improve Yardwonder. It is stored with Supabase in Sweden without your email address, name or IP address, linked only to a random code for that visit in that browser tab, and deleted after 12 months.

Your saved designs

When you enter your email to see your design, we save your photo, the designs you make and their plan previews with Supabase in Sweden, so the link we email you brings them back on any device. Saved designs are deleted after 60 days. Anyone with that link can open them, so share it only with people you want to see them.

Your design package

When you buy a package, we keep your photo, your chosen design and everything we make from it for at least 12 months, and for as long as your plan is in use, until 12 months after you last use it, so the private link we send you keeps working. They are stored with Supabase in Sweden. Anyone with that link can open the package, so share it only with people you want to see it, such as your landscaper. Email support@evolui.io to have a package deleted.

Extra designs

If you buy extra designs, a random code is saved in a cookie in your browser so we know how many designs you have left. It isn't linked to your name, and the purchase itself is handled by Stripe.

How we measure the product

We record anonymous events, such as a photo being uploaded, a design being made or a checkout being opened, to see where Yardwonder works and where people get stuck. This runs on PostHog without cookies: nothing is stored on your device, and visits are counted with a one-way hash that changes every day, so we can't tell who you are. These events never include your photo, your email address or what you wrote.

When you buy, we tell Google Ads that a purchase of a given value happened, with a random order number, so we know which ads work. We don't give Google your name, email address or photo.

Abuse protection

To stop automated misuse, we count how many designs are requested from each internet connection. We store only a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and the counters expire within 24 hours.

Your approximate location

To show example yards, plants and costs from your part of the United States, our hosting provider (Vercel) tells our server which state your internet connection comes from. We use it only to choose which version of the page to show you. It isn't stored, and it isn't linked to you or your designs. Your exact USDA zone comes from the ZIP code you choose to enter.

Account and payments

Your email

There is no account to create. When you enter your email to see your design, we send you your design and up to six short emails about it over the following week and a half: what the plan includes, what your design would cost to build, other styles to try, a reminder before your welcome price ends, and a note asking if anything was unclear. If you start a checkout and don't finish, we may send one reminder. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we stop as soon as you buy or unsubscribe. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland we only send your design.

If you buy, we use the email address you give at checkout to send your package link and receipt. We also use your email to answer you if you write to us. We keep your email address for up to 12 months, or less if you ask us to delete it. To know whether our emails arrive, our email provider tells us when an email bounces or is marked as spam, and we then stop emailing that address.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's checkout page and we never see or store them. Stripe tells us your email address, name, billing country and postal code, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded. We use your billing country and postal code to charge the right sales tax or VAT.

Support

If you email us, we keep the email and the information you include in it so we can help you and improve Yardwonder.

Cookies

Our product analytics runs without cookies. Payments use the cookies Stripe needs to process them securely, and if you buy extra designs we save a random code in a cookie so we know how many you have left. When you enter your email, a random code in a cookie connects this browser to your saved designs, and another remembers when your welcome price started.

In the United States and other countries outside the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, we also use the Google Ads tag, which sets cookies to measure whether our ads lead to purchases. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland it runs without advertising cookies.

What we do not do

How we use information

We use the information above to provide Yardwonder and what you buy, deliver it to you, prevent fraud and abuse, fix problems, and respond to support requests. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract (providing the service and your purchases), legal obligations (keeping accounting records), and our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers named in this policy, who process it on our behalf, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information. The providers for Yardwonder are:

International transfers

We are based in Sweden. Some of our providers process data outside the EU and EEA, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. Stripe is based in Ireland and the United States. OpenAI is based in the United States. Vercel is based in the United States. Supabase is based in Sweden (EU). PostHog is based in the United States. Google is based in the United States. Resend is based in the United States.

Retention

Designs you make before entering your email are not stored after you leave the page; the text you type into the design tool is kept, without your email or IP address, for 12 months. After you enter your email, your designs are kept for 60 days and your email address for up to 12 months. If you start a checkout but don't pay, the photo and design you sent are deleted within 7 days. Packages are kept for at least 12 months after purchase, and while your plan is in use until 12 months after you last use it, so your link keeps working, then deleted. Purchase and payment records are kept for seven years, as Swedish accounting law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold, and to object to or restrict its processing. Residents of some US states, including California, have similar rights to know, delete and correct their information. To use any of these rights, or to delete your account, email support@evolui.io and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority. In Sweden this is the Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Children

Yardwonder is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers, and access to it is limited to what is needed to run the service.

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant we will tell you by email.
